Yosemite 10.10.3

Yosemite 10.10.3 came out a few days ago. I was hopeful and upgraded and then hope flew away.
It flew away and left me with a huge pile of very expensive and almost useless crap.
Nothing had changed.
Crap will be crap.

I’ve owned computers since the mid eighties. Ever waited for one of those first IBM XT’s to boot up?
I had a few home computers too. Commodore Vic 20, Commodore 64, Commodore 128. There was this incredible powerful one made by Acorn for the BBC Computer Literacy Project.
PC’s and laptops. Some well know brands and some less known.
I’ve been working as a system engineer for the past 30 years.

Linux, Windows, good computers and less good ones yet none of them as bad as what I got next.

Two years ago I was in the market for a new computer and after doing some research and friends I trusted telling me I could not do wrong I bought a 27″ iMac with 16 Gb. of RAM.

Since the Yosemite OSX came out my computer is almost useless, extremely slow and reboots without warning. Working on my 6 year old Acer laptop gets things done more quickly.

They say there is a first time for everything. And maybe they even say there is a last time for everything.
I say in this case the first time is also the last time.
Please shoot me if I ever buy a Mac again.
Hell you don’t even have to make it painless.
Please?

So the Yosemite 10.10.3 upgrade made no difference. I’m still sitting in front if a fucking useless pile of 27″ electronic horseshit.

I do not want to start to think what kind of Windows supercomputer I could have build with the cash I threw away in the “Apple Store”.

PS… I am still happy with my iPad Air but my ASUS Memopad 7 is working very well too and satisfying me completely at 4 times less the cost of the iPad Air.
My iPhone 4s is becoming slower but that is normal I guess. Apple wants me to buy a new one. I will, in a couple of months. It will be without any doubt an Android based phone.

If I’m stepping on toes I apologise but I am not ever again investing in something so called must have and thus expensive. At least I have the courage to say the Apple stuff sucks big time and that I flushed my hard earned money down the drain.
It sucks and I know it from my own experience.

I must say my Beloved shares your position 100% – He is never again to take a bit of the Apple.

I guess it has to do with Yosemite because before updating I did not experience as many problems as I do now.

  3. Sorry to hear that happened, normally I do like Apple laptops as they are generally solid and the OS is usually stable. We have blocked Yosemite upgrade as it hasn’t been tested enough on our system and the ones we have been playing with exhibit a problem playing with our wireless.
Love my Linux, have been an Ubuntu user for a few years now and haven’t looked back.

I still have a Ubuntu laptop but the scanner software I own is PC/Mac only. I don’t have that much problems with the Wifi but it is more about, as far as I can tell, disk access. I notice it the most when I use Lightroom and I would be tempted to say that LR is the problem but then again, after rebooting there are moments when I use Finder for example, I get this colourful spinning wheel.
